

The registrations were made in NWIR, SWIR and LWIR spectral bands simultaneously. During the tests several infrared cameras were used, including the measurement class devices with high accuracy and frame rates. The field measurements of a muzzle flash were also performed. High precision laboratory measurements were made in a special ballistic laboratory and as a result several flash patterns were registered. Signatures registered during all phases of muzzle flash were analyzed. Selected signatures of sniper shot in typical scenarios has been presented. The paper presents some practical aspects of the measurements of muzzle flash signatures.
